• West Side Leader, 2010 Event

  Musicians and thespians are joining visual artists at this year’s Art in the Square for a day filled with entertainment in Highland Square. On Aug. 28 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., more than 100 artists, bands, theater groups and organizations will take part in the annual event, which takes place along West Market Street at Portage Path. Also included will be workshops, contests, children’s activities and a farmer’s market. “It’s really a celebration of Highland Square and who we are,” said Ronald Higgins, promotions committee chair and a resident of the neighborhood.

  “What’s so much fun about this is most of the artists are local people,” Reymann said. “Some of them are just ‘Oh, let’s get a booth and put some things together.’ Others are well-known, like Joan Colbert and Bob Pozarski.”
