Exhibitor Information

Thank you to all who have signed up for Art in the Square 2010! Registration is now closed so that we can finish the program and site plan. We had over 120 registrants – a record number for Art in the Square! This is going to be a truly exciting event!

Each space is 10'x10'. Please bring your own 10'x10' tent as we do not have these for rent. Tents larger than 10'x10' require special approval from the fire marshal, so please do not bring larger tents.

You may send payment via PayPal to art@ilovethesquare.com or mail a check or money order to Art in the Square, 175 Casterton Ave., Akron, OH 44303. Please make checks payable to Mark Smith, AitS Treasurer.

Exhibitor Setup Information

With less than a week to go until Art in the Square, preparations are in high gear, and we are keeping our fingers crossed for friendly skies on Saturday.

In the meantime, here are the procedures for unloading and parking:

  1. Please arrive early. The set-up time is 7:30 - 9:30 am. Plan for time to queue up, to unload, to find parking, and to set up.
  2. Queue up in the back of the parking lot behind Chipotle on the north side of West Market Street. The easiest access to the lot is on Conger Avenue behind Metro Burger, but there is also an entrance on North Highland. We have created a Google Map with directions for your reference.
  3. Volunteer Coordinator, J.T. Buck, will be there to sign you in, give you your booth number and direct you to the loading zone nearest to it.
  4. There will be seven loading zones along W. Market Street. Wait for J.T. to direct you to the zone nearest to your booth. Only one to two cars at a time can unload in each zone, so please be patient in the queue. As soon as unloading space becomes available, you will be directed to your zone. Plan on arriving early to avoid peak times and a longer wait.
  5. When you pull up into the loading zone, there will be volunteers to help you unload quickly and to watch your things, and to direct you to one of the permanent parking spaces we have located specifically for vendors for that day.The exhibitor parking lots can be found on the Google Map.
  6. Plan on setting up your booth after you return.
  7. The show will run from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., and we ask that you please leave no earlier than 7:00 p.m.

Parking:
We have worked out special accommodations with local businesses to find vendor parking for the day that will not block the main parking areas for visitors. You can find all of the parking areas and directions to the queuing area on the Google Map.

Rental Equipment:
If you are renting a table through us, you must sign it out and pick it up from Lauren Wooley, our Rental Equipment Coordinator, at the AitS booth, which will be at the east corner of S. Highland and W. Market. Please make sure you have cash for a $20 DEPOSIT, or you may leave your drivers license, either of which will be returned to you at the end of the day. All rentals MUST BE RETURNED to us BY 8:30 PM.

Tents:
Since most of you will be setting up on hard ground, plan on bringing something heavy to secure your tents (cinder blocks work well). Most of you will be setting up along the side of Market Street, where you can tie the backside of your tent to the bike racks that will serve as barriers between you and the street traffic.

We all look forward to having you join us for this exciting neighborhood event! In the meantime, please spread the word and invite your friends!
