Art in the Square features a wild mix of fun contests for participants of all ages! This is your chance to be creative and show your skills to win gift cards and other prizes.

Chalk Art Contest

A sidewalk chalk art contest will be held from 8am to 4pm. Each participant receives their own 4' x 4' square. Participants use their squares as a canvas for chalk art that will be judged at 4pm by area artists. You may bring your own chalk or purchase chalk at the event for $5 per box.

Win Cash Prizes - Registration Fee: $5
Pay to register and you are eligible to win cash prizes! First Place: $100, Second Place: $50, Third Place: $25.

Register for FREE and you still have a chance to win gifts cards! Ages 12 and under get Thinker Toys gift cards, while 13 and over get Market Path gift cards.

Pet Pageant & Talent Show

Pet owners – it's time to see your little ones show their stuff! Wonderful prizes from Pet's Pajamas will be given to the best dressed pets, as well as those with the best tricks. Registration is FREE! Bring your pooches by for a free treat from the contest sponsor, Pet's Pajamas! Contest happens at 3:30pm on the Kid's Corner stage (though the pets and their people can be of any age).

Burger Challenge

Think you have what it takes? Join the speed-eating Metro Burger Challenge at 2:30pm on the Conger Stage! Here's how it works: be the first to wolf down a 1 pounder, including the burger, condiments, and buns, and you win a $100 gift card to Metro Burger. Second place is a $50 gift card and third gets a $25 gift card. Registration is FREE, however, there are only 10 spots available in this competition. Sponsored by Metro Burger.

911 BBQ Challenge

Can you stand the heat? Zack's is cooking up their pulled pork sandwiches filled their insanely hot 911 Sauce (made with the legendary ghost pepper). The contest happens at 4:45pm on the Buzzbin (South Highland) Stage like this: You have 3 sandwiches, 1 cup of water, and 1 bowl of frozen yogurt. Eat the sandwiches, but don't touch the water or frozen yogurt. Hold out the longest and you win a $25 Zack's gift card!
