Sidewalk Chalk Art Contest
A sidewalk chalk art contest will be held at this year's Art in the Square from 8am to 2pm. Twenty-four four-foot squares of sidewalk have been set aside in front of the Metro Burger/Market Path plaza. Participants use their squares as a canvas for chalk art that will be judged by area artists. The chalk art contest is sponsored by Thinker Toys.
The top three place winners take home cash prizes:
- First Place: $100
- Second Place: $50
- Third Place: $25
Registration costs $10 per four foot square. The contest is for all ages. A separate, free, non-judged area will be set aside for kids, so parents do not need to register their younger children for this competition.
You may bring your own chalk or purchase chalk at the event for $5 per box. Judging will occur at 2pm. You will have the entire morning and the early afternoon to finish your chalk art.
